Born in on 3rd July, 1967, Tigmanshu Dhulia was brought and educated in U.P. He went to study at St. Joseph’s College and Anglo Bengali Intermediate college and later the prestigious Allahabad University, where he comp¬leted his Graduation in English, Economics and Modern History, in 1986.

Then he seriously thought that his destination was Entertainment industry. So he took the right step to the right direction, by joining National School Of Drama in 1986. After doing graduation in acting, he bagged the Master's Degree in Theatre. It was in 1989.

After doing some legwork, hardwork and homework, he joined Shekhar Kapoor as an assistant. Under his wings he learnt quite a lot of tricks of tensiltown. During these days he had been working on the off beat scripts. “So, I collected money from my friends, some of the finance I managed to raise, took my actors, and the crew to Allahabad, We shot the entire climax there. After editing when we showed it to the industry people, we were happy to see their reaction. This is the way I got myself first breaks" Confesses Dhulia.
