Dr. Anand Ranganathan is a professor at the Special Centre for Molecular Medicine at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He holds an extensive academic background with a BSc in Chemistry from St. Stephen’s College, followed by a BA, MA, and PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on tuberculosis, malaria, and other infectious diseases, particularly investigating drug resistance and therapeutic solutions.

In addition to his scientific work, Ranganathan is also a well-known political commentator and writer. He has authored several books, including Hindus in Hindu Rashtra (2023) and Soufflé (2023), among others. He is a frequent participant in television debates on politics and societal issues, contributing to media platforms like Swarajya, DNA, and Firstpost. His work often challenges prevailing political narratives, offering critiques across the political spectrum, including on figures like Nehru and Gandhi.
