Manish Tewari is an Indian lawyer and politician, associated with the Indian National Congress. He was born on December 8, 1965, in Ludhiana, Punjab. Tewari has a prominent legal career and has practiced in the Supreme Court of India. He also has an extensive political career, serving as a Member of Parliament representing Ludhiana (2009–2014) and later Anandpur Sahib. Additionally, he was the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting from 2012 to 2014 during the UPA government.

Tewari is known for his active involvement in politics from his student days, beginning with the National Students' Union of India (NSUI). He has also served as the president of the Indian Youth Congress and has been involved in key legislative and foreign policy matters. Aside from his political career, he has written several books, focusing on topics like national security and public policy​.
