Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi

Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is a prominent Indian filmmaker and actor, best known for his work in television and cinema. He gained widespread recognition for his role as the titular character in the 1991 television series Chanakya, which he also directed and wrote. His career in film includes notable works such as the 2003 adaptation of Amrita Pritam's novel Pinjar, for which he received the Screen Videocon Best Director Award.

In addition to Pinjar, Dwivedi has directed other significant projects, including the films Zed Plus (2014) and Mohalla Assi (2018), as well as the television series Upanishad Ganga (2011)​. Recently, he directed the historical film Samrat Prithviraj (2022), which explores the life of the legendary king Prithviraj Chauhan​.

In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Dr. Dwivedi was awarded the Padma Shri, one of India's highest civilian honors, in 2023. His work often focuses on historical themes, showcasing a deep engagement with Indian culture and history.
