Darshana Jardosh is an Indian politician affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and currently serves as the Member of Parliament (MP) from Surat, Gujarat. She has been elected to the Lok Sabha three times, starting in 2009, and is well-known for her strong electoral performances, including a historic victory in 2014 where she won by a margin of over 533,000 votes, one of the largest ever by a female MP.
Originally a businesswoman, Darshana transitioned into politics in 1988 and has held various leadership roles within the BJP, including being the President of the BJP Mahila Morcha in Surat. In 2021, she was inducted into Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet as the Minister of State for Textiles and Railways. Throughout her political career, she has been an advocate for women's empowerment, and has also been involved in cultural and social initiatives in Gujarat through organizations like Sanskruti, which promotes art and culture.
