Sh. Dinesh Patel is the founder of Disha Foundation, a non-governmental organization established in 2002. The foundation focuses on socio-economic development, primarily targeting marginalized sections of society such as migrant workers. With a mission to improve the quality of life for these communities, Disha Foundation undertakes initiatives in areas like migration management, livelihood, education, and health.

The organization has made significant strides in supporting migrant workers, particularly through their Migration Resource Centers (MRC) in Maharashtra, Goa, and Delhi NCR, helping over 800,000 workers by 2023. Disha Foundation also plays a key role in policy advocacy, working with government bodies to develop pro-migrant policies and reforms to improve the lives of underprivileged workers.
